River Access Update 2025

We are not currently allowing access to the Waterton River for fishing, floating or swimming. While we understand the frustrations some must feel over not being allowed to put boats in the water in Waterton Park, access for us at this time isn't a good fit. This is for a few reasons:

1) the only appropriate point of access goes right through our yard, and the traffic, especially for floating (including shuttling) gets to be quite disruptive to our personal lives and space.

2) Most of the time during the fishing/floating season, there are cattle in the area where recreational users need to park and we cannot control damage to personal property caused by livestock.

2) we allow over 150 hunters on the property each year, and along with that there is a lot of time and resources spent managing recreational use for at least 7 months of the year. By the time summer comes around we do need a break from managing recreational access, which is something we do voluntarily, and without compensation.

I will not be responding to applications for river access as it has been made clear on the website we will not allow it at this time.

Again, this is not an easy decision for us, as we do aim to share the property with others, however, in the best interest of ourselves and our business we just can't do it right now.

Thanks for understanding.
